Research Findings: Student Motivation and Engagement in Gamification

Last academic year Katherine and Laura implemented gamification in two first year nursing courses.

To find out student perceptions of how gamification shaped student motivation and engagement within these two first year Nursing course learning environments a formal research study was conducted.

The results of a survey and one in-depth interview will be shared during this presentation.

In addition, a number of important considerations for equitable game design that may inform future game design in a variety of contexts will be discussed.
