Virtual Group Work: It Can Be Done!

In this session, you will participate in an active group work activity in Zoom Breakout Rooms using a Flipped Classroom approach. Mel and Sarah will model how to prepare for a virtual active learning class, including how to arrange students into groups, how to prepare instructions for the Zoom Breakout Rooms, how to use an interactive Nearpod lesson, and how to use collaborative documents from which students can work from simultaneously. After participating as a “student” in this session, we will host a debrief session where we can collaboratively reflect on and discuss ways to apply these concepts in our own classrooms. There are many ways to achieve the same result, so you’ll leave with a list of ideas to get started.
